Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton is hoping to strengthen his squad with the additions of Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski and Coventry City striker Dele Adebola.
Legwinski, 32, has been told he is free to leave Fulham and impressed during a recent trial spell at Portman Road.
Magilton told Town's official website: "We had a look at Sylvain and he had a look at us and hopefully something can be sorted out.
"We have offered him a contract and negotiations are going on at the moment."
Adebola is likely to be allowed to leave Coventry following the arrival of Scotland international Kevin Kyle from Sunderland, and Magilton is determined to beat Hull City to the 31-year-old's signature.
He added: "We are on the lookout for players that might bring something extra to the squad and if Dele becomes available, he is someone we would look at."
