Town await Williams bids
Thursday Jan 25 2007 07:43

Ipswich Town midfielder Gavin Williams would be allowed to leave the club if a massive offer were received by the Tractor Boys.

Twenty-seven-year-old Wales international Williams has been linked with a move away from Portman Road in the January transfer window, but Town boss Jim Magilton says it would take a major bid to land his player.

He told the Evening Star: "It would have to be an offer we couldn't refuse.

"If a club came along and offered me £2million for Gavin he could go. That's what I mean by a fantastic offer.

"When he's fit and well Gavin is as good as anything in this division and he is good enough to play in the Premiership.

"Nothing would please me more than us getting a great deal for Gavin and him going off to play at the very highest level, but we haven't had any offers."
