Supple opts for Town stay

Republic of Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper Shane Supple has penned a new one-year contract with Ipswich Town.

The 22-year-old, who has made 37 appearances for Town, has also gained first-team experience during loan spells at Falkirk and Oldham Athletic in the last two seasons.

"I'm delighted to have agreed a new contract at the club," Supple told Town's official website.

"I've not signed just to sit on the bench though. I want to play first-team football and I intend to put as much pressure on Richard Wright as I can.

"I know he's a top goalkeeper and he proved that here last season but he knows I'll be after his shirt."
