Ipswich Town's push for a play-off a place has been dealt a blow after it was revealed that Velice Sumulikoski will not play again this season because of a shin injury.
The 26-year-old FYR Macedonia international is expected to have surgery next week and joins David Norris and Richard Naylor in the Portman Road treatment room for the last few weeks of the campaign.
"Shumi has a tingling sensation in his foot and around his toes and we've been investigating the cause," Town physio Matt Byard told the club's official website.
"The surgeon will indicate what is the next step, but at the moment we are moving towards an operation, probably next week, which is likely to mean he will be out of action for around three months."
Sumulikoski has made 14 appearances for Town following his transfer from Turkish side Bursaspor in January.
