Quinn seals Town transfer

Ipswich Town have signed Alan Quinn on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old midfielder had joined the Tractor Boys on loan last week, but has now put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract.

The Republic of Ireland international made over 100 appearances for the Blades.

"Ipswich are doing well at the moment and are in with a chance of going up," he told the club's official website. "Hopefully I can help the club achieve that aim.

"The manager (Jim Magilton) has got some good players here and having played alongside him at Sheffield Wednesday, I know what he is all about.

"He is a big factor in me coming here. I know he will want his team passing the ball around and taking the game to the opposition."
