Norris set for FA hearing

The Football Association have charged Ipswich Town midfielder David Norris with improper conduct following his controversial goal celebration in the victory over Blackpool earlier this month.

The 27-year-old has already been fined by his club after making a gesture in support of his former Plymouth Argyle team-mate Luke McCormick, who was jailed for causing death by dangerous driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Norris has admitted the charge and asked for a personal hearing which will take place on Thursday.

The FA, who wrote to Norris directly for an explanation, have accepted that the player did not make a handcuff sign.
