New deal for starlet Peters

Ipswich Town have moved to secure the future of midfielder Jaime Peters after successfully negotiating a new contract with the 22-year-old that will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2013.

Peters, a regular international player with Canada, has continued his improvement with the Championship strugglers this season, playing 14 matches including six games of Town's recent ten-match unbeaten run.

"Ipswich is a great club and I'm pleased with the way things have gone for me this season in terms of being involved with the first team," Peters told the official club website.

"I think I have progressed as a player this season and I'm enjoying playing under the manager (Roy Keane)," he continued.

"If we can keep our run going and win a few more games then we will move up the table quickly."
