New deal for defender

Ipswich defender Shane O`Connor has signed a new contract to keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2012.The 20-year-old joined the club last summer and ended the season as first-choice left-back under manager Roy Keane.He said: "Obviously I`m delighted to have been given the opportunity to stay at the club."The deal was agreed a while back but it`s good to put my signature on the contract."I really enjoyed last year and was pleased with the progress I made. Now I`ve got to look to build on that this year."
