Ipswich Town stalwart Richard Naylor's season is over after it was confirmed that he needs surgery on his neck injury.
The 31-year-old defender has been told he will be sidelined for at least three months after he goes under the knife in London next week.
Town physio Matt Byard said: "Richard will have the operation in early April and we're looking at three months rehab from there, so hopefully he should be back for pre-season training."
Naylor has spent his entire career at Portman Road, making well over 300 League appearances for the club since making his debut in September 1996.
