Magilton denies rift rumours

Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has dismissed reports of a rift with midfielder Velice Sumulikoski.

The 27-year-old FYR Macedonia has only featured twice since the turn of the year, but Magilton insists that he remains in the picture for a first-team recall.

He told the club's official website: "He's been away on international duty and we will have a look at him, but he is always in my thoughts.

"There might be a perception out there - because he has not played lately - that we've had a fall-out but we certainly have not.

"We have a difference of opinion in that he thinks he should be playing but I have no problem with that.

"Every time I pick a 16, I try to cover every permutation in my choice of substitutes and recently he has missed out, but things change in football.

"I have a lot of respect for the lad. He trains hard and is a top professional."
