Loan switch for Roberts

Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has been given permission to sign Accrington Stanley winger Gary Roberts on an emergency loan until January. Magilton's midfield options are currently extremely limited as Owen Garvan and Gavin Williams are sidelined with illness and injury while Mark Noble's loan spell from West Ham will expire next month. The 22-year-old has scored 25 goals in 73 appearances for Accrington and helped John Coleman's side clinch the Conference title last term. Roberts was on schoolboy forms at Liverpool before spending two years at Crewe. He drifted out of League football, having spells with Bangor City, Rhyl and Welshpool before joining Accrington in March 2005.
