Ipswich Town goalkeeper Shane Supple hopes he can return to Portman Road a better player after agreeing to join Falkirk on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has made 36 appearances for Jim Magilton's side since making his first-team debut at the beginning of the 2005-06 campaign, but has spent the whole of this season on the substitute's bench.
"It's been frustrating for me this year because I've not played enough and I asked the manager if I could go out on loan," Supple told the club's official website.
"The reserve games are few and far between and the standard isn't the highest either so, even when I was playing, I wasn't seeing too much action.
"It will be a good standard in Scotland and a new experience and it will give me the chance to prove myself.
"I'll be back here in the summer and with Neil (Alexander) leaving, the shirt might be up for grabs.
"Hopefully, if I've done well in Scotland over the next few months then I'll return to Portman Road in a good position to challenge for a place in the team."
