Ipswich Town striker Shefki Kuqi could be set to make a return to action after shaking off a niggling hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old Finland international has been absent for two weeks, as he bids to impress while on loan at Portman Road after falling down the pecking order with Crystal Palace.

Tractor Boys boss Jim Magilton told the club's official website: "Shefki has worked closely with our medical team on his recovery over the last week or two and is desperate to get back playing.

"He will train with us on Thursday and if he comes through that okay then he will come into contention for Saturday's match at Preston.

"We will have a good look at him first though, both today and on Friday before making a decision."
