Keane drafts in new keeper

Ipswich Town have announced the signing of Bosnian goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Portsmouth on a three-month loan deal. Although Keane has former England international Richard Wright as his number one, the 31-year-old has been out of form this season and the introduction of Begovic is designed to increase competition for the keepers' spot. "Although we brought Arran Lee-Barrett in, I've always liked three keepers in my squad to maintain the competition and Asmir comes here to push for a first-team place,"" Keane told the club's official website. "I spoke to the Portsmouth manager Paul Hart about him and a few other people and they have been very positive. "But, most importantly for me, I spoke to the lad himself and he was very keen to come here and wants to play games and that was a big plus for me."
