Keane cautious despite victory
28 Apr 2009 - 11:36:00
Ipswich Town's new boss Roy Keane warned that there is a lot of hard work to do, despite starting his reign with a 3-0 victory at Cardiff City.
Keane took charge of the Tractor Boys following the sacking of Jim Magilton and enjoyed a perfect start as Town secured a superb win at Ninian Park.
However, he told the club's official website: "It wasn't as comfortable as the scoreline suggests.
"There are difficult games in the Championship every week, but I was pleased with the response from the players and to score three goals away from home is very pleasing.
"We did the ugly things well in the game, that pleased me. We had to change things around with the injury to Alex Bruce and the players coped with that.
"We had good travelling support and the fans will go home happy, but there is a long way to go yet."
