Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane is confident that he was right to allow striker Danny Haynes to leave the club to join Bristol City.
The 21-year-old had struggled for regular first-team action at Portman Road and Keane believes that Haynes will fare better with the Robins.
He told the East Anglian Daily Times: "It was a compliment to Danny that a club came in for him and I was not going to stand in his way.
"I gave him an opportunity to speak to them and if he was not happy to go then we would have taken him back with open arms.
"He has gone there and has been impressed with them and I believe he will do well there and I wish him well.
"He is a good lad with a good attitude, but Bristol City may offer a better guarantee of playing games."
