Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks remains hopeful the club can still lure Blackburn Rovers striker Francis Jeffers to Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys have had a revised £500,000 offer for the former England international rejected by the Premier League club last week, but Sheepshanks has not given up hoping of landing the player, who spent two months on loan with Town last season.
"All is not lost," he told the Ipswich Evening Star. "We are still very keen to sign Franny and he is still very keen to join us.
"Currently Blackburn have a higher valuation than we are able to meet. But I remain hopeful we can reach agreement over a fee in the next two weeks or so."
