Ipswich Town have terminated the loan stay of Francis Jeffers at Portman Road after the striker suffered a torn hamstring.
The on-loan Blackburn Rovers striker picked up the injury in last weekend's 2-0 defeat by Southend.
The 26-year-old striker limped off just 30 minutes into his third appearance for the Tractor Boys and has now returned to Ewood Park for treatment.
"Franny has a grade two tear and it means he is likely to be out for a number of weeks," head of sports science Dave Williams told Rovers' official club website.
The former England international had scored on his full debut for Town in a 5-2 thrashing of Hull City earlier in the month.
