Garvan wishes Town well
Owen Garvan hopes to see Ipswich in the play-offs at the end of the season after completing his move to Championship rivals Crystal Palace. The Irishman left Portman Road for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday after making 174 appearances for the Tractor Boys.Garvan had become frustrated due to a lack of first-team opportunities under Town boss Roy Keane and is relishing a new challenge with George Burley's Eagles. He said: "At the end of the day, I want to play football. That's what I came over from Ireland to do and I've not played enough recently."I have a lot of good memories of my time at Ipswich and I got on well with the fans and I'd like to thank them for that. They were always good to me."It's a new start for me now. I obviously know some of the players at Palace and they are a good bunch. Ipswich are in the past but I wish the club well and if both Ipswich and Palace get in the play-offs then that would be great."
