Duo have what it takes - Dyer
Former Ipswich star Kieron Dyer believes youngsters Connor Wickham and Luke Hyam have bright futures ahead of them.Dyer broke the Tractor Boys` transfer record in 1999 when Newcastle shelled out £6.5million to secure his services, and the 31-year-old midfielder, who now plays for West Ham, has been impressed with the duo after playing against them in a friendly on Saturday. He feels Wickham, 17, and Hyam, 18, have the attributes needed to enjoy successful careers in the game - backing forward Wickham to break the transfer record he set 11 years ago.Dyer told the East Anglian Daily Times: "Connor has the makings of a great player and all he has done so far points to that. The way he is going he will break my transfer record, although I'm sure Ipswich will do all they can to keep him if they can."Turning his attention to midfielder Hyam, he continued: "He's a confident lad and he was not overawed. He was pushing and shoving Scott Parker and Mark Noble about and I'm sure Ipswich will be hoping he can keep up this form."The former England midfielder also backed Roy Keane's side to have a "decent campaign" after the Hammers earned a narrow 1-0 win at Portman Road.
