Ipswich Town have failed in their appeal to have Pablo Counago's red card from the win at Scunthorpe United overturned.
The Spanish striker was dismissed by referee Iain Williamson for violent conduct and the Football Asscoiation has backed the referee's decision.
The 28-year-old will now miss the matches against QPR, Colchester United and Cardiff City.
Town boss Jim Magilton had said of the incident: "We've looked at the video and it's handbags at best.
"Their lad puts his hand in Pablo's face and Pablo just pushes him away. I think the referee could have pulled the two of them together and told them to 'grow up' and left it at that."
