Civelli recovery on track

Ipswich Town winger Luciano Civelli is making good progress after enduring knee surgery in March.

The 22-year-old sustained extensive knee ligament damage including a ruptured cruciate in the draw against Burnley but his recovery is on track.

"The first 12 weeks following surgery of the sort that Luca's had is often very slow and a frustrating time but he's dealt with it well and reached all the short-term goals set out for him." physio Matt Byard told the club's official website.

"The muscles are strengthening around the knee joint and the specialist is delighted with the progress he's made.

"He's now been given the green light to step up his rehabilitation in what will be a crucial time for him over the next four to six weeks."

Civelli is not expected to return to first-team action until early in the new year.
