Bruce ready for Town talks

Ipswich Town defender Alex Bruce insists he wants to sign a new contract with the club.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international rejected a new two-year deal earlier this season but will hold talks with new boss Roy Keane this week.

Bruce told the club's official website: "I felt the offer made in January wasn't what I was looking for, but hopefully something can be sorted out because I want to stay at Ipswich.

"I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed a good relationship with the supporters and, if I've played my last game, I want to say thanks to them.

"I came here to play regular first-team football and I've achieved that, but I also wanted to help the club win promotion so that's been frustrating."
