Bruce pens Ipswich extension

Irish defender Alex Bruce has signed a new two-year contract with Ipswich Town, with an option of a further 12 months.

The 24-year-old's current deal runs out this summer, but Bruce is happy with the arrival of new manager Roy Keane.

Keane told the club's official website: "I had a chat with Alex last week and I told him that I was keen for him to stay at the football club.

"He made it clear that he wanted to stay, so it was down to trying to sort a deal out and I'm delighted we've achieved that."

Bruce has scored twice in 112 appearances for the Tractor Boys to date.
