Ambrose returns to Town

Darren Ambrose has returned to Ipswich Town, the club where the 24-year-old midfielder started his career.

The Charlton Athletic player will remain at Portman Road on loan until January.

Ambrose progressed through the Academy at Ipswich and scored eight goals in 30 League appearances for the club before joining Newcastle United in a £1million move in 2003.

"I've played with Darren and know what qualities he has and we're delighted to have added him to the squad," Town boss Jim Magilton told the club's official website.
