Ablett set for Town role

Former Stockport County manager Gary Ablett is poised to join the coaching staff at Ipswich Town. The 44-year-old former Liverpool and Everton defender left the Hatters earlier this summer and was on the bench as Town opened their pre-season campaign with a 9-1 win at Newmarket Town. Manager Roy Keane told Sky Sports News: "We've had Ian McParland here for a few months, but he's not been able to commit for family reasons, so Gary is here for a few days. "We are hoping for Gary to come on board and we are trying to sort out a deal for him to come along and work alongside myself and Tony Loughlin with the first team."
