Ipswich striker Connor Wickham was understandably delighted after he scooped two awards at the Football League awards.

The 17-year-old has featured regularly for the club this season and has scored all six of his goals since Paul Jewell took charge in January. He was named Apprentice of the Year for the Championship and followed that up by being named as the Football League Young Player of the Year.

He said: "To win one award was amazing but to get two is just unbelievable.

"I have been fortunate to play a lot of football this season and that has really helped me improve my game.

"These awards are recognition of that progress and I am delighted."
