Wickham set for Town start

Ipswich manager Roy Keane could revert to 4-4-2 for the visit of Cardiff. Keane fielded Jason Scotland as a lone striker against Championship leaders QPR in midweek but saw Neil Warnock's outfit romp to a 3-0 win - Town's first league defeat of the season. Teenager Connor Wickham came on as a half-time substitute and could be handed his first start of the season alongside Scotland after making a swift recovery from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season. Shane O'Connor is out with a hamstring problem while long-term absentees Luciano Civelli (knee) and Damien Delaney (blood clot) are close to a return after resuming training and playing for the reserves. On-loan Celtic defender Darren O'Dea missed the QPR defeat with a recurrence of his knee injury and is unlikely to return so Mark Kennedy will start at left-back against the side he left in the summer.
