Wallace plays down exit speculation

Wallace's form is said to have alerted several English clubs, with West Brom, Middlesbrough and Ipswich reportedly keen on the 22-year-old left-back.[LNB]In the absence of winger Andy Driver, Wallace has been relied upon by Csaba Laszlo to get up and down the left flank to support the attack and the Scotland international has obliged.[LNB]Wallace has also seen team-mate Jose Goncalves being linked with moves out of Gorgie but he insists Hearts have his undivided attention.[LNB]"As far as any speculation is concerned I have not heard anything," said the 22-year-old.[LNB]"I'm a Hearts player and no-one has said anything to me. I come here every day to train and play for Hearts.[LNB]"It can be an unsettling time but we've had it all before over the years here and we have all dealt with it accordingly.[LNB]"You just have to ignore it and get on with your job."[LNB]Laszlo is desperate to bolster his attacking options but is waiting on the green light from owner Vladimir Romanov to add recruits.[LNB]Wallace would welcome the arrival of fresh faces as Hearts look to cement their place back in the top six of the SPL.[LNB]"It's nice for a team to get new players and bring in a bit of quality," he added.[LNB]"It could be a positive thing but it's for the people higher up."[LNB]Wallace missed last weekend's disappointing 2-0 Scottish Cup loss at Aberdeen with a heel problem and visited a specialist on Wednesday over a long-standing hip complaint.[LNB]However, the full-back is hopeful of regaining his place in the team for Saturday's visit of St Mirren.[LNB]He added: "It's a case of finding out exactly what the problem is with the hip and taking things from there.[LNB]"As far as the heel is concerned, I'll need to try the boots and see if I am comfortable with them."[LNB]Meanwhile, Hearts manager Laszlo does not expect to see injured striker Calum Elliot in action for a further two months.[LNB]The former Scotland Under-21 marksman has not played since making a substitute appearance in the December 6 loss at Hamilton after suffering a reaction to the knee that he had surgery on earlier in the season.[LNB]Laszlo added: "He is very unlucky with this knee, I miss Calum, he was in our plan definitely to play in our squad from the beginning of the season.[LNB]"I think he needs three weeks just to come back to training, after you see what happens with his knee. I will be very happy to have him back.[LNB]"Until now, he has had two weeks training and then four or six weeks out because the reaction from the knee is always negative. You don't know what the reaction will be and this is the problem.[LNB]"Even if he comes back, he has not played football for nearly six months and he needs time to come completely back. You can't use him for the next two months."[LNB][LNB] Hearts 4/5, Draw 5/2, St Mirren 7/2
