Tractor Boys loan for Colback
The 19-year-old has yet to make his debut for the Premier League side but was included in several squads by Keane when he was in charge at the Stadium Of Light.
Colback is in contention to make his Town debut against Coventry on Sunday.
He told the club's official website: "I went to see Steve Bruce about going out on loan and he mentioned Ipswich.
"It's a massive club and obviously I know Roy Keane from his time at Sunderland.
"I was in the youth team when he was at the club but I trained with the first team under him and played in a few friendlies.
"It's a great chance for me to push my career on. Playing in the Championship seemed the next step to take."
