Steer extends Gillingham stay

Left-back Steer, 19, has started the last two games for the Gills as he enjoys his first taste of senior football.

He will now be with the Kent club until the middle of March, in which time Mark Stimson's side have six more games as they look to continue their bid for promotion.

Canadian Peters, 21, arrived on the same day as Steer last month but has not featured in the last three matches and has decided to return to his parent club.

He made just three appearances in his month with the Gills, setting up Andy Barcham's winning goal in the 1-0 win at Chester in late January.
