Sky Blues succeed in Stead signing

The 26-year-old looked set to complete the switch on Friday but instead used the weekend to it mull over, with his wife heavily pregnant and the pair settled in Suffolk.[LNB]Town boss Roy Keane announced on Monday morning he thought Stead was staying at Portman Road after he had trained with the club as normal.[LNB]But having given the move thought, the forward has opted to up sticks to the West Midlands and is poised to make his debut on Wednesday as the Sky Blues travel to Championship leaders Newcastle.[LNB]The former Blackburn, Sunderland and Sheffield United man is Ipswich's joint-top scorer this season with six goals to his name and was understood to be top of Chris Coleman's shopping list having lost Leon Best to Newcastle.[LNB][LNB][LNB]
