Roy Keane given vote of confidence

Ipswich Town have angrily denied reports in one Monday newspaper which claimed manager Roy Keane was set to be sacked by the Championship club.

Keane has endured a miserable start to his reign at Portman Road after winning just one of 17 league games this season.

The Tractor Boys are second from bottom of the Championship table but have rubbished suggestions that Saturday's goalless draw with
Sheffield Wednesday was Keane's last game at the helm.

"Reports in the press that Roy will be sacked are complete rubbish," said a club spokesperson.

"There were no meetings over the weekend and Roy remains in charge."

Town are currently in the midst of a six-match unbeaten run but have amassed just 13 points from a possible 51 this term.
