England coach Fabio Capello joined him at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, to hand over £75,000 from the FA, which is on top of £1.2million already raised for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.[LNB]The 76-year-old was diagnosed with the disease for a fifth time a year ago and he has dedicated much of that time to fighting the disease.[LNB]He was asked to try to raise £500,000 to equip a specialist trials centre and that target was reached in just seven weeks.[LNB]Sir Bobby was not expected to speak at the launch, but made a 15-minute speech about his battle, the inspiration he has been given from meeting fellow patients and his pride in seeing one of the leading cancer centres in Europe open on Friday.[LNB]He even managed to joke about his ongoing fight since he was diagnosed last March, saying: "I have had longer than a Football League manager."[LNB]Sir Bobby thanked Capello for coming to the North-East adding: "By the way, if you want to see Newcastle, I can get you a ticket."[LNB]He said that the England boss' presence made this "a perfect day".[LNB]In return, Capello said he remembered the times when, at different clubs across Europe, they had been on opposing sides.[LNB]"But now we are here together to fight against cancer," the Italian said.[LNB]Former players Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley were there to see Sir Bobby blow out candles on his cake two days after he turned 76.[LNB]Afterwards Shearer said: "He set out to raise half a million pounds and did that after seven weeks.[LNB]"They have gone on to raise £1.2million, which is incredible, and he will continue working and continue generating success for the hospital."[LNB]Beardsley said he was not surprised at his former manager's moving and inspiring speech.[LNB]He said: "The man is unbelievable.[LNB]"He knows the right words for the right occasion.[LNB]"He makes you feel 10 feet tall and when you hear him speak you don't want him to stop.[LNB]"The man has an aura about him."[LNB][LNB]
