Priskin makes £1.7m Ipswich move

The 22-year-old Hungary international is in contention to make his debut at Coventry on Sunday after putting pen to paper on Friday afternoon, with neither club officially revealing the fee. He signed for Watford in 2006 but failed to make much of an impression until Brendan Rodgers replaced Adrian Boothroyd at the helm last November. Priskin was a man reborn under Rodgers, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances including goals against Tottenham and Chelsea in cup competitions. Watford boss Malky Mackay believes they had no choice but to let the Hungarian leave. He said: "We were in the unfortunate position of having a player with less than a year left on his contract. "There was no chance of us letting him go cheaply but once Ipswich met our valuation it made sense to talk to them. "As much as I'm disappointed, we have to look after the best interests of the club."
