Martinez pleased by Swans' display

Jason Scotland struck in the third and 73rd minutes to put the Swans in charge and Jordi Gomez completed the rout with a superb free-kick four minutes from time.[LNB]The visitors had no answer to the slick passing and movement of a Swansea side now on a 15-game unbeaten run.[LNB]Martinez said: "We knew we had a huge challenge on our hands today and Ipswich showed in spells just how good they are.[LNB]"I am delighted we kept playing our normal game but goals change matches and we imposed ourselves upon Ipswich after scoring so early.[LNB]"I'm sure it was a pleasure for our fans to watch a performance like that and everyone kept up their standards, not just Jason.[LNB]"His second goal was superb and he is a great finisher who also holds the ball up well but every player contributed to the victory.[LNB]"We are into the last third of the season and our target must now be the play-offs. Everyone should be proud of out achievements but we must keep on progressing so that we can realise our dreams."[LNB]Those dreams were brought sharply into focus in the third minute when debutant Albert Serran beat two defenders in a run down the right flank before crossing into the danger area.[LNB]Scotland was first to the ball and crashed his shot into the net from close range.[LNB]Despite their all-round play it was not until late in the second half that the dominant Swans increased their lead.[LNB]Nathan Dyer took a corner on the right, the visitors' defence failed to clear and Scotland left a couple of defenders standing before crashing home his 15th goal of the season.[LNB]There was still time for Gomez to power in an 86th minute free-kick to give the Swans a comprehensive victory.[LNB]"I knew it was going to be that sort of game," said disappointed Ipswich manager Jim Magilton.[LNB]"But we needed to stand up and be counted, particularly in the second half, and that is something that we didn't do.[LNB]"I can see why Swansea are doing so well because all their players are comfortable in possession but I was really confident coming here after winning three away games in a row.[LNB]"Our game plan was to retain possession as much as possible but we never had the spark that Swansea's confidence gave them.[LNB]"Emotions are running high at the moment but the players have just had a poor day and defended badly."[LNB][LNB]
