Keane: Scotland will get sharper

Ipswich boss Roy Keane tipped new recruit Jason Scotland to increase in sharpness after he made his debut in the 1-0 win at Crewe in the Carling Cup second round. Keane handed a debut to Scotland after the striker arrived from Wigan on a one-year deal on Monday. The Irishman was pleased the forward was able to get some first-team experience after David Norris ended the Railwaymen's brave effort when he fired home a volley in the 11th minute of extra-time. Keane said: "Jason Scotland needs minutes on the pitch because he hasn't played much this season and I don't think he got too much in pre-season. "We didn't plan on giving him 75 minutes, I'm glad he got onto the pitch and I think he showed some good signs. "The plan was for Jason to have just 45 minutes, but obviously with the game going into extra-time he got more than that, he will look sharper when he gets back to match fitness."
