Keane keeping feet on the ground

The Blues clambered out of the relegation zone for the first time this season, leapfrogging Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.[LNB]And while it was a relief to secure another victory, Keane felt his side should have added to the strikes from Jon Stead, Jack Colback and Gareth McAuley.[LNB]He said: "We're out of the bottom three and it's a relief, when you've been there since the start of the season.[LNB]"But it's not something we're proud of. Don't worry - we won't be celebrating.[LNB]"We could have won six or 7-1, given the chances we created, especially in the second half.[LNB]"They were unbelievable - thank God they didn't cost us otherwise I'd be saying the same things I've been saying for the last few weeks.[LNB]"It would have been a nice boost for the players and sent a message out to everyone that we're not such a bad team.[LNB]"But let's not get too greedy or selfish. We'll take the three goals and move on."[LNB]Town extended their unbeaten run to ten matches - three wins and seven draws - and Keane added: "It's nice but it's victories we need to move up the table.[LNB]"We've dropped some silly points but we're looking a lot more solid and we're getting there."[LNB]Town were in front after just 29 seconds.[LNB]Stead picked up a loose ball, pushed it wide of giant defender Ian Evatt and whipped a low, pinpoint effort inside the left-hand post from 25 yards.[LNB]Jon Walters saw a header cannon back off the post, from Owen Garvan's cross, and then Stead engineered Town's second with a clever pass for Colback.[LNB]The midfielder raced through on goal and coolly cracked home his second goal of the season from the edge of the box.[LNB]Evatt pulled one back for Blackpool midway through the second half, getting on the end of Neal Eardley's cross to send an unstoppable header flying past goalkeeper Aaron Lee-Barrett.[LNB]However, Town made sure there was to be no nervous finale when they restored their two-goal cushion four minutes later.[LNB]Garvan won a corner and Leadbitter's perfect delivery was headed home at the near post by McAuley.[LNB]Blackpool were reduced to ten men when David Vaughan was sent off five minutes from time, having picked up his second booking for a foul on Colback.[LNB]Seasiders boss Ian Holloway said: "We got what we deserved and I got what I deserved - nothing.[LNB]"I probably tinkered with the team a bit too much and we didn't have our chess pieces in the right places.[LNB]"Full credit to Ipswich.[LNB]"They capitalised on that, scoring a fantastic goal after a minute and then giving us an absolute rabbit punch just before half-time.[LNB]"But I didn't recognise it as the kind of performance we've been giving, so I'm a bit disappointed.[LNB]"You have to give Roy credit, his team credit and the fans credit. Things haven't been going as well as they would want here but the spirit they showed spoke volumes for the manager and the club."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
