Keane Hits Out at Town Legend Mariner

26 March 2010 11:41
Town boss Roy Keane has launched an attack on former Town striker and current Plymouth boss Paul Mariner for not accepting an offer for a post-match drink on Tuesday evening. Speaking to the local press Keane blasted: "I have no problem with Paul (Mariner) coming back here, but then after the game Paul wouldn't have the decency to come up for a drink with us, to see my staff, to see the opposition manager."He was too busy up here seeing his mates. But you remember these things in football. It's not bad blood, because I couldn't have spoken highly enough of Paul before the match."And the reception for Paul (from the fans) was not over the top. I have no problem with ex-players coming back and getting the reception that they deserve. But when the whistle starts, get behind your team!"He's found his way upstairs, with Mr Sheepshanks and all them! Everyone's up here, all over Paul Mariner, and yet Paul won't even come for a drink with the manager. Explain that one to me?"
