Keane happy for Garvan to stay

Garvan has not figured for the first team since the defeat at West Brom in August but recently snubbed the opportunity of a temporary switch to the League One Us.

"I was a little surprised Owen didn't go and get some games and improve his sharpness, but he wants to stay here and compete for his place and I respect him for that," Keane told the club's official website.

"He's not in the team at the moment but part of the process of being a top footballer is dealing with the times when you are out of the side.

"He's got to keep his head down, keep working hard and wait for his opportunity. I've said that to all my players and we've seen what can happen with David Wright coming back into the side recently."
