Town boss Roy Keane is confident that hot prospect Connor Wickham will sign a pro deal with the club over the next few days. The Town striker turned 17 this week, meaning he is now able to sign his first professional contract with the club, although there has been reported interest from several Premier League clubs who may try to persuade the England Under 17 international to leave Portman Road.Speaking to the Official Club Website, Keane confirmed: "There has been a lot of speculation about Connor over the last few months in terms of his contract but we've always been quietly confident that he will be staying at this club."As much as I have brought new players to this Club, it's very important that you have young lads coming through and Connor and Shane [O'Connor] have shown that if they work hard they will get their chance. "Hopefully we will have some news on Connor over the weekend but that will take care of itself. The main focus will be on tomorrow's game and we will have a look at Connor and see what his fitness levels are like."
