Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has cleared the way for striker Jason Scotland to return to Swansea.
Striker Scotland has fallen down the pecking order at Portman Road since Jewell replaced Roy Keane and is hoping to join the Swans where he enjoyed two profitable years before joining Wigan.
Jewell told the club`s official website: "I spoke to Brendan Rodgers on Tuesday and told him that if Jason wanted to go there then they needed to match what we wanted - and we are not asking for any more than the player's wages.
"I'm quite happy to keep Jason but I don't want to keep an unhappy player and if we let him go it would have to be on our terms.
"I don't want to leave us short but at the same time I don't want to keep someone who doesn't want to be here. I will speak to Jason before the weekend to see what the situation is."
