Jewell grateful to Ipswich owner

Paul Jewell is delighted to have been appointed as the new Ipswich manager. The former Wigan boss replaced Roy Keane on Monday afternoon, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract. Speaking to the club's official website, Jewell said: "It's a privilege to be Ipswich Town manager. "It has all happened very quickly, but there was no decision to make on my part. It was just down to the owner here and I'm obviously delighted that he offered me the job. "I might have been out of work for the last two years, but I've not been out of the game. I've been in Spain and Italy, watching other coaching techniques and working in the media. "It's a fantastic football club and I'm looking forward to getting on with the challenge here. We need to get the players playing with more belief, but that will come with winning football matches."
