Jewell down despite win

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell was disappointed with how his side's performance dropped off in the second half against npower Championship play-off hopefuls Burnley despite coming away Turf Moor with a 2-1 win. Goals from David Norris and Connor Wickham put Town 2-0 up at half-time and although the Clarets hit back through a 68th minute Jay Rodriguez effort, Town held on for victory. Jewell said: "I thought first half we played really well and put them on the back foot. I've got to be brutally honest and say I was disappointed how we played in the second. "I thought we sat back too much. But having said that I don't remember our goalie making too many saves. "The first goal was decent set-play and the second was a terrific move. Connor's made hard work of scoring that goal! I thought every time we went forward we looked like scoring. We made them change their system and shape. "They played long balls and we dealt with it comfortably. I thought we could have done better with the ball in the second half but fair play to the players. It was a sterling performance defensively."
