Jewell confident over Bullard

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell is optimistic midfielder Jimmy Bullard will recover from a hamstring injury in time for Saturday's trip to Leeds. The 32-year-old missed the 3-1 home defeat by Reading on Tuesday night. Jewell will definitely be without captain David Norris at Elland Road, whose 10th yellow card of the season against the Royals means he sits out the next two games through suspension. "We'll assess Jimmy and hopefully he'll be fit for Saturday," Jewell told the club`s official website. "It's a lot of games he's played in a short space of time, considering he hasn't played a lot of football it's probably caught up with him. "You can see he's been a huge influence on the team. We didn't have any leader out there (against Reading), anybody who wanted to get on the ball and dictate play and that's what Jimmy does." Jewell added: "David's ban is a blow as well, it's an area we're a bit light in bodies at the moment."
