McCarthy to check on Town duo

Ipswich will assess Daryl Murphy and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake ahead of the visit of fellow promotion-chasers QPR.

Murphy missed last weekend's 1-1 FA Cup draw with Preston due to a thigh injury while fellow striker Ebanks-Blake was forced off just half an hour into his Town debut nursing a hamstring problem.

Boss Mick McCarthy made a total of seven changes for the cup tie as he looked to give some players a rest but he will return to his strongest possible XI against the R's.

The Suffolk club are looking to extend a nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions

Rob Green, Richard Dunne and Niko Kranjcar are set to return to the QPR starting line-up.

Goalkeeper Green and centre-half Dunne were rested as Rangers bowed out of the FA Cup 4-0 at Everton last weekend, while midfielder Kranjcar came on as a half-time substitute.

Winger Junior Hoilett remains a doubt with the hamstring problem which kept him out at Goodison and midfielder Alejandro Faurlin is out long term with a cruciate injury.

Young striker Tom Hitchcock has joined Rotherham on loan.
