Cresswell boost for Town

Ipswich left-back Aaron Cresswell expects to be fit for the visit of Doncaster despite struggling with a groin injury in midweek.

The problem forced Cresswell off in the 2-0 win at Huddersfield but he has insisted that was just a precautionary measure and he should be fit to take on Rovers.

Mick McCarthy could therefore name an unchanged side after the victory in West Yorkshire breathed new life into Town's play-off bid.

The Tractor Boys are now just two points behind sixth-placed Reading with five games remaining.

Doncaster captain Richie Wellens looks likely to miss the trip.

Wellens played with the aid of a pain-killing injection against Bolton in midweek after suffering a foot injury during the win at Leeds at the end of last month, but the midfielder lasted just 34 minutes before he had to be substituted.

"Richie put his hand up to play on Tuesday night. We've had lads play after injections before and they've been fine," said Rovers boss Paul Dickov. "You hope you'll get away with it but obviously we didn't. We've just got to wait and see now. We've had it scanned and there's no fracture there so hopefully he's back sooner rather than later."

Lucas Neill was also withdrawn against Bolton after feeling cramp in his hamstring and he will continue to be assessed by the club's medical staff ahead of the trip to Suffolk.
