Hyam raring for Robins showdown

Ipswich are boosted by the return of Luke Hyam ahead of their clash with fellow strugglers Bristol City.

The midfielder missed two matches with a hamstring injury at the start of the month and, after returning to training before last weekend's trip to Leeds, fell ill and was unable to travel.

But he is expected to be involved for Mick McCarthy's side as 20th play 21st in the npower Championship.

Nigel Reo-Coker returned to the bench on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury and is pushing for a first start since the 1-1 draw with Peterborough in November.

However, Paul Taylor remains sidelined with his foot injury.

The Tractor Boys are five points above the Robins and are unbeaten in their last four home fixtures.

Bristol City striker Jon Stead is set to make his first start for the club for over a month when he returns to Portman Road.

The 29-year-old, who scored 20 goals for the Tractor Boys between 2008 and 2010, was introduced as a second-half substitute against Derby last weekend having recovered from a thigh injury and he is now set to replace Ryan Taylor in the starting line-up.

The former Rotherham forward has a thigh injury and is expected to miss out along with Liverpool loanee Danny Wilson, who tweaked a hamstring in training.

There is better news for manager Derek McInnes on the injury front with Cole Skuse back in training after six weeks out with a fractured cheekbone and Greg Cunningham moving closer to a start after making his long-awaited return from an ankle injury last week.

Defensive duo Lewin Nyatanga and Louis Carey are both back in contention to face the side just one place above them in the npower Championship.
