Williams set for Town bow
Jonny Williams comes into contention for his Ipswich debut at home to Birmingham.
The midfielder arrived from Crystal Palace on a month-long loan deal on Thursday and goes straight into Mick McCarthy's plans for the Portman Road clash.
Leading goalscorer David McGoldrick faces a battle to play again this season having sustained knee ligament damage earlier this month.
Midfielder Luke Hyam will be monitored as he looks to overcome a hamstring injury, with play-off chasing Town bidding to end a three-match winless run which has seen them drift five points outside the top six.
Chris Burke has been passed fit for Birmingham while fellow winger Jordon Ibe is pushing for a starting berth.
Burke was forced off in the second half of last weekend's 2-1 victory at Blackpool having taken a knock to the head which left him feeling groggy for a couple of days.
Ibe replaced the Scot to make his Blues debut at Bloomfield Road having arrived on loan from Liverpool and made a positive impression, strengthening his claims for a start against Town.
Brian Howard (fractured toe) is expected to be okay but fellow midfielder Callum Reilly (knee) misses out.
