Ipswich Town v QPR: Preview

Ipswich have an injury worry over Darren O'Dea ahead of the clash with leaders QPR. O'Dea pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad last week with a knee injury but started the goalless draw at Portsmouth on Saturday. However, the on-loan Celtic man came off at Fratton Park so Mark Kennedy could make his home debut after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Winger Andros Townsend is back from a three-match suspension and will come into contention while manager Roy Keane could be tempted to hand a first start to teenage striker Connor Wickham. The 17-year-old was a surprise substitute at Fratton Park after making a swift recovery from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season and is in contention.

Shane O'Connor is out with a hamstring problem while long-term absentees Luciano Civelli (knee) and Damien Delaney (blood clot) are close to a return after resuming training.

Kyle Walker has been added to the QPR squad. The young full-back has joined on a month's loan from Tottenham and is in line for an immediate debut.

Deadline-day signing Rob Hulse is still carrying a slight Achilles problem and will have to wait a little longer to make his first appearance. Centre-half Fitz Hall has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to be rushed back so Matt Connolly will partner Kaspars Gorkss again.

Club captain Martin Rowlands played his third reserve match last week but he too will not be risked too soon after 11 months out with a cruciate injury and fellow midfielder Lee Cook is still missing with knee trouble.
